We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to provide housing support to our sheltered tenants ensuring that they can continue to live independently in their homes and can play as full and active role in their community as they wish.

The Council’s sheltered housing accommodation provides supported independent living with a benefit of a scheme manager available Monday – Thursday 8-4.30pm and Friday’s 8-4pm. In addition to this the scheme are covered 24/7 by our Lifeline provision supported by Ashford Monitoring Centre.

If you can answer “yes” to these questions you may be just who we’re looking for. Do you have experience of working with older people? Do you understand the health and well being agenda? Can you truly work as part of a team? Can you liaise with other professionals to enable older people to maintain their independence by providing support, sometimes in an emergency? Do you have experience of managing buildings and reporting repairs? Are you capable of maintaining accurate records, including use of a computer? Can you encourage tenants to play an active role in organising their own social activities? Can you travel across the whole Borough?

The ideal candidate will have experience in these areas and preferably some knowledge of the Supporting People programme. There is a requirement for the post holder to work on call out of hours on occasions.
