With significant national infrastructure projects on the horizon, now is a great time to join a local authority with a growth agenda that is willing to support two ambitious and dedicated apprentices in gaining a Level 5 Higher Apprenticeship in Construction Management.
By choosing a higher apprenticeship you can earn a competitive full time wage whist studying, with us covering the cost of your tuition fees. You can also increase your skills and knowledge by working on a wide variety of projects, giving you the opportunity to reach higher earning potential, whilst enjoying a debt-free learning opportunity.
Apprentices will have the opportunity to apply critical reasoning and analysis techniques to solve built environment and engineering problems, using industry standards, appropriate codes of practice and work based evidence. This develops personal and business skills which will enable you to contribute to the demands of a professional environment.
You’ll gain experience working alongside industry experts and receive regular support from a workplace mentor and a tutor from the university. You're also entitled to paid time off for study as well as all the benefits that come with being a student, such as teaching excellence, fantastic facilities and a full range of support services.
We are therefore looking for two candidates who are eligible to undertake a three year Apprenticeship programme in Construction and the Built Environment via the Leeds College of Building. To qualify you must have already attained a BTEC Extended Diploma or Subsidiary Diploma, a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship or two A Levels grade A* to E in complimentary subjects.
Successful candidates will also have experience of working successfully as part of a team and should possess good communication, negotiation, organisation and inter-personal skills.
The candidates will also require an ability to understand and analyse plans at different scales as well as the ability to understand local and national policies, procedures and legislation relevant to the area of work, including Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
In addition, the post is career graded with stepped increases in basic salary linked to successful completion of key modules and demonstrable application of learnt skills.
If you meet the identified criteria, these roles offer an incredible opportunity to achieve your ambitions without the financial challenges created by choosing to study on a full-time basis. We look forward to hearing from you.
