ASSISTANT COOK

REQUIRED FROM SPRING 2023

Bedford Primary are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, customer focused Assistant Cook to join our dynamic school kitchen team, supporting our Catering & Hospitality Manager. 

Our total focus is on delivering fresh, wholesome and exciting food for our pupils and staff via our high quality “in-house” school meals service.

We are seeking somebody who is passionate about food, and enthusiastic about delivering quality customer service for our VIP’s; the children. A good sense of humour and a passion to succeed is essential.

The successful applicant will work under the supervision of the Catering & Hospitality Manager to prepare, cook and serve food.  General kitchen and dining duties, including cleaning and dishwashing will also be required.  (Further details may be found on the attached job description.)

The successful candidate must have previous experience of working in a busy kitchen, as well as a proactive attitude towards work. A level 2 in Food Hygiene Certificate is essential. NVQ Level1 and 2 in basic cookery would be desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

This position is term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent.  If successful the salary received will be paid on a pro-rata basis.
