Permanent – Part-Time 18 hrs per week

This is an exciting time for the London Borough of Redbridge; we are at the heart of regeneration and change in East London, with unprecedented investment in the area expected in the next few years and the arrival of Cross Rail which will open up new opportunities for new homes and jobs. We benefit from excellent transport links across London and Essex and our offices, based in Ilford, are only 9 minutes from Stratford and 18 minutes from Liverpool Street, in the heart of the city.

Our vision is Ambitious for Redbridge, and to help us meet our challenges the Council is shaping its service areas to meet the needs and diversity of the population.

We are currently looking for a Workforce Planning and Development Manager to join the Engagement and Development Team. This is a part time role which is shared with another member of the team.

Across the country, there is a need for local authorities to attract and retain health and social care staff to meet the growing needs of local populations, in the context of growing and changing National requirements. The successful candidate will have strategic overview for how Workforce Planning issues and trends are reflected and managed within the Directorate and is responsible for ensuring effective Workforce Planning, recruitment and retention and the on-going professional development of staff. The role has oversight of staff recruitment, development and retention programmes from student practitioner to qualified practitioner to meet current and future service demands and National accreditation requirements.

Excellent organisational, communication and date analysis skills are essential.  The candidate will have experience of training and workforce development initiatives in the public, private or voluntary sector, managing projects and good knowledge of post qualification opportunities in the health and social care sector.

If you are able to work with a good level of autonomy to tight deadlines with a can-do attitude, this post may be for you.

This is a permanent post.

Interviews will be held week commencing 1st July 2019.
