Barnsley Council’s IT service plays a crucial role in supporting the organisation’s Future Council Strategy and Corporate Plan along with its Digital First Strategy. An opportunity is available for an ICT Engineer within the Service Delivery team. We are seeking to appoint an ambitious ICT Engineer to join our team. The role is a technical role and is located within Code Green who are our commercial service within Barnsley Council delivering IT support services to Schools, Academies and Small/Medium Enterprises across Yorkshire and the Humber and also within the Corporate side of IT which is based in Barnsley supporting Council colleagues and service users.
The successful applicant must be dynamic and have excellent troubleshooting skills with a key focus on customer service.

Your role in our journey
As an ICT Engineer, your primary function will be to provide maintenance of all ICT related desktop, hardware systems, software applications and network and telephony infrastructure of supported sites; in accordance with best practice, policies and procedures
What you’ll need
To join us, you’ll need a relevant Level 3 qualification. You will need to have experience of working an ICT service management environment, experience of trouble shooting and fault finding and experience of working with multiple hardware, software and infrastructure platforms.
