Delivering fibre broadband across South Yorkshire is a key priority of the Sheffield City Region, and the Superfast South Yorkshire team is not only responsible for its successful delivery, but supporting business and residents alike in understanding the benefits of faster broadband. To date we have enabled fibre broadband (delivered by Openreach) to over 100k properties in South Yorkshire.
SFSY have recently entered into a second contract with Openreach, valued at approximately £9.7 million, to deploy fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) technology to over 9000 homes and businesses, bringing blistering broadband speeds.

You’ll enjoy a wide and interesting remit - from monitoring the “on the ground” delivery of the project, to the technical assurance of our contractor’s work and financial documents. You’ll be best placed to help inform and shape demand stimulation activities of SFSY project officers, to compliment the rollout. By reviewing the quality, performance and value of services, you will make sure we are doing all we can to raise a better connected South Yorkshire.
What you’ll need
To join us, you’ll need a Level 6 qualification and relevant training in programme or project management. You’ll need proven experience in a contract and project management. Your track record includes working with performance management frameworks or tools, and managing systems to support the monitoring and reviewing of services and contracts. Excellent communication skills are as important as your talent for analysing and interrogating data. Your ability to manage conflicting priorities will be key to enable you to adapt your workload to suit the fast paced environment. You will use your proven financial and contracts management experience to support the Programme Manager ensuring effective management of the South Yorkshire Broadband programme.
