Appointment of two Key Stage One Teachers (part-time) to cover periods of maternity leave from September 2019
The governors are seeking to appoint two experienced Key Stage One Teachers to cover periods of maternity leave that, it is envisaged, will run into the summer term 2020.
The positions are both part-time (0.4) and the successful applicants will both work on Thursdays and Fridays in the school’s mainstream Year One and Year Two classes. Both classes will continue to be taught by experienced colleagues from Monday to Wednesday.
As is common will all job-share arrangements, we will be seeking to appoint teachers who have exceptional capacity to work effectively with a colleague to offer provision for the classes that is as seamless as possible. While we anticipate that communication between colleagues may be a challenge, our expectation will be that excellent handover arrangements will be devised and followed.
The Grange Primary School is unique in Sefton and highly unusual nationally. It is a full one-form entry primary school with a thriving nursery that also features six additional classes for almost 60 children who have Special Educational Needs. In essence, the school comprises a primary school and nursery of approximately 250 children and a Special School for 60 children with a diagnosis of either autism, speech and language difficulty or social, emotional and mental health issues. There are almost 70 staff.
The successful candidates (who will be teaching classes of 30 in the mainstream school) will demonstrate that they subscribe to the ethos of this highly inclusive school. They will benefit from highly supportive and friendly staff and governors, children who have a great enthusiasm for learning and excellent resources.
Due to the nature of work the above post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and relevant care/safeguarding legislation and appointment will only be confirmed if a satisfactory Enhanced DBS is obtained.
