Full TIME CUSTOMER ADVISOR
Salary: Scale 1 – 4 (from £17,364 per annum)

Applications are invited for a full time Customer Advisor to work in the Council’s Customer Team. The post is offered on a full time basis of 37 hours per week:
Monday – Thursday 8.30am – 5.00pm, Friday 8.30am-4.30pm (one hour for lunch)

The successful candidate will be delivering a high quality service to customers via the telephone or the customer service desk.
The main duties of the post include receiving and dealing with enquiries from members of the public relating to all Council services and inputting and accessing the Council’s customer service computer systems in respect of service requests, provision of information. The role also includes providing the public with information about Council services and liaising with external contractors to obtain progress reports on service delivery.
Applicants should have 3 GCSE’s or equivalent which must include English Language. A good standard of communication and interpersonal skills is essential and experience of dealing with the public both face to face and over the telephone. Previous experience in dealing with contractors or external organisations will be an advantage. Shortlisted applicants will be required to take a numeracy test.
Excellent team working skills and use of Microsoft Office systems in a work environment is essential.
The ability to converse at ease and in accurate spoken English with other Council staff, contractors and external service desks, to provide/obtain information and advice, is also an essential requirement.
The successful candidate will be automatically enrolled in the Local Government Pension Scheme and will be required to obtain a Basic Disclosure.
