Hillingdon Council is building on the best practice established through the SEND Reforms to enhance the offer for children and young people with SEND and their families.
With many exciting developments ongoing, Hillingdon Council are seeking to appoint two new SEND leadership posts to support with the implementation of a positive transformation plan for SEND services.
We are seeking to appoint an innovative, dynamic and experienced professional to lead our newly created SEND Advisory Service. This service is integral to our local area SEND pathway and the post-holder will build on the work of Hillingdon’s ‘My Support Plan’ to embed appropriate and coordinated early intervention for all children and young people with SEND across our local area.
Leading two teams of specialist advisers, teachers and key-workers, the SEND Service Manager will oversee the delivery of intervention, advice and guidance for educational settings and families in harmony with our Educational Psychology Service. They will work closely with the SEND senior leadership team to drive the local area SEND Strategy alongside the Clinical Commissioning Group and will strive to ensure a consistent approach to supporting SEND is adopted across all educational settings.
About the person
The post-holder will have a strong understanding of the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEN Code of Practice and may be an existing school leader. They will need to demonstrate the ability to lead a newly established service.
