Hillingdon Council is building on the best practice established through the SEND Reforms to enhance the offer for children and young people with SEND and their families.
With many exciting developments ongoing, Hillingdon Council is seeking to appoint two new SEND leadership posts to support with the implementation of a positive transformation plan for SEND services.
We are seeking to appoint an innovative, dynamic and experienced professional to lead our newly created SEND Advisory Service. This service is integral to our local area SEND pathway and the post-holder will build on the work of Hillingdon’s ‘My Support Plan’ to embed appropriate and coordinated early intervention for all children and young people with SEND across our local area.
In collaboration with the two Team Managers, the SEND Service Manager will be responsible for implementing the newly developed operating model. The successful candidate will work closely with the SEND Advisory Service Manager and Principal Educational Psychologist to ensure team activity and outcome measures are appropriately connected.
They will be responsible for the effective operation of the Local Authorities duties to children and young people aged 0-25 in line with the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEN Code of Practice 2015 and will have a comprehensive understanding of all relevant legislative frameworks. They will deputise for the Head of SEND in all matters relating to the local area SEND Strategy and will be involved in reviewing and developing specialist provision locally.
About the person
The postholder will have demonstrable experience of leading statutory teams and will be passionate about delivering a high quality service. They will report directly to the Head of SEND.
