This is an exciting opportunity to join the Community and Children’s Services Department’s Commissioning Team. Our portfolio covers a wide range of services including; public health, children’s social care, adult’s social care, housing, homelessness, adult learning, education and early years. The Commissioning Team lead on the commissioning, procurement and performance management of the Corporation’s health, social care and community services contracts.
The Business Support Officer will have the opportunity to take ownership of the team’s current business administrative processes and develop and improve them. Key to this will be managing the contracts register and information systems; arranging meetings and minute taking; supporting events; processing requisitions and purchase orders; uploading opportunities on the Corporation’s e-tender portal and monitor responses from potential providers; and liaising with other teams in the department and provider organisations. You will have the opportunity to work alongside the team to support the whole ‘commissioning cycle’.
We are looking for individuals who can work in a fast-paced environment, be able to adapt to changing priorities and work well in a team.
Knowledge and understanding of commissioning, contract management and procurement would be desirable.
You will also line manage a Level 3 Apprentice Business Administrator.
