An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Resilience Officer to join London Borough of Newham as part of the Emergency Planning Team.
We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, flexibility and initiative. The Resilience Officer is a key role in developing and implementing emergency preparedness, resilience and business continuity arrangements to ensure that the Council is ready to respond to emergencies.

£32,430 pa - £34,794 pa
The postholder will assist London Borough of Newham to meet their statutory duties under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 by supporting with development of local emergency plans and procedures, assessment of risk, deliver training and exercises, consult and liaise with a wide range of agencies, including local and regional government emergency services and voluntary organisations.
The successful applicant will have an awareness of the demands of an emergency, an appreciation of UK civil emergency arrangements and an understanding of how local government works.
You will have the ability to build and maintain relationships with broad agencies and partners, as well as possess strong communication skills. You must also demonstrate a keen eye for detail and attention to support with the preparing and delivery of emergency response during an incident. This includes maintenance of equipment and other emergency response infrastructures.
The postholder will report to the Resilience Manager in the Emergency Planning Team.
