We have an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and diligent SEN Case Officer to support the Special Educational Needs Team in fulfilling its role in carrying out the statutory Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessments of children and young people with special educational needs (SEN). The successful candidate will support the service in maintaining effective organisation and data management processes during the statutory EHC needs assessment process and/or related case-work and ensure EHC needs assessments are carried out in a timely way in collaboration with involved professionals and families.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.
To be considered for this vacancy it is essential that that post holder is educated to A Level and/or hold equivalent qualifications or ideally hold a Degree although this is not essential. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to cultivate and maintain excellent working relationships both internally and externally. You will be fully proficient in Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and Access and be willing to expand this knowledge as the role progresses. The ideal candidate will have an excellent working knowledge of SEN and Equalities Legislation (Children and Families Act 2014, 0-25 Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice, Equalities Act 2010). You will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently, prioritise your work as appropriate and manage a busy and demanding workload.
