St Albans is a unique English Cathedral City with a colourful history which can be seen in the Roman remains and variety of beautiful architecture, heritage sites and conservation areas. Set within green belt, off the M25, A1M and M1 the District includes a cathedral, historic city centre and charming villages. Our refurbished offices are in the city centre near to the station (London St Pancras 20 minutes), shops and restaurants. In short it is a great place to live and work.

 

Our Housing team is responsible for managing and maintaining 5,000 properties including sheltered housing, temporary accommodation as well as general needs tenancies.  This post is responsible for the management of the lease and recovery of management charges, service charges and all charges in respect of repairs, maintenance and major works.

 

You will also be dealing with any variations, transfers or breaches of the lease including management of nuisance and alterations to the property. There is a strong emphasis on leasehold consultation and participation both statutory and non statutory within the responsibilities of this post. You will be responsible for the management and supervision of an administrator.

 

You must be educated to degree level or have relevant leasehold management experience of working within a social housing service.  Working knowledge of relevant legislation e.g. housing, landlord and tenant law and legal procedures relating to income management and debt recovery is essential for this post.  Previous experience of leasehold management including the provision of landlord services and consultation requirements are essential.

 

An excellent communicator, you will also be IT literate with the ability to use an Orchard housing management system or similar.  You will be required to attend occasional evening meetings and evening working subject to service requirements. Post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Check.
