As part of this continuous improvement an exciting new role has been added to the finance team, Finance Manager and Deputy s151 Officer.
About the role
Reporting to the Strategic Lead for Finance and Section 151 Officer, this politically restricted role will be responsible for the management and performance of the Financial Services team and provision of strategic and procedural financial advice to the Council.
You will also be the finance lead for various ambitious and exciting commercial projects which the council is currently involved in.
This role will work closely with the Section 151 Officer to ensure effective and efficient financial information is delivered and will also work closely with the wider organisation to deliver substantial business transformation and change agenda ensuring every element is financially viable.
It is essential that you are a qualified accountant, have experience of working in a face paced, challenging environment and can demonstrate considerable financial knowledge of accounting standards and codes of practice in Local Government. Effective communication skills both verbal and written and the ability to lead, manage and influence people is also highly advantageous.
