Senior Revenue Officer (Revenues & Benefits Service), RB010

37 hours per week (flexible working)

Grade 7 £30245   to £33,487 (Inc Local Weighting)

Based at Council Offices, Wallfields, Hertford, SG13 8EQ .

We are looking to recruit a Senior Revenue Officer who will be responsible for all disciplines within the Council Tax Team, this includes carrying out all day-to-day activities necessary for the efficient and effective collection of Council Tax and in particular: responding to queries in accordance with the relevant legislation; assisting with reconciliations; attending court and tribunal hearings and the supervision, training and monitoring of revenue officers. In addition you will be required to support the management team when required.

It is essential that you have a detailed knowledge of Council Tax administration, legislation and procedures. You will need to have good communication skills and be able to work under pressure. You must be able to demonstrate experience in dealing with the more complex and challenging areas of council tax.

You will be confident, with excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver complex information to a variety of different audiences in various formats. You must be comfortable challenging existing processes to ensure continual improvement, able to manage your work independently, and be positive and proactive about the advantages that changes in ICT or processes can bring.

You must be organised and methodical with the ability to review information to make fair and consistent decisions and work in partnership with a variety of different teams across Customer Services.

This post is suitable for homeworking with at least two days in attendance at the Wallfields office on completion of a probationary period.
