Maidstone – Great people, great place, great opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a programme of transformational capital projects focussed on place shaping, economic development and physical regeneration and deliver a service designed to support local economic growth. The post holder will manage a team of people to develop and implement the Council’s Economic Development Strategy and Housing Development & Regeneration Investment Plan. A major element of this work will be the delivery of capital projects including a new innovation centre, a new café and visitor centre at Mote Park, and direct housing developments. Ensuring the continued success of the Council’s award-winning Business Terrace and economic development services will be a key task.
The post holder will need to have extensive knowledge, skills and experience of the development process, commissioning consultants, project management, and capital contracts. The Council considers this to be a customer focused role and the ability to converse at ease with customers adapting communication style to suit differing audiences and provide advice in accurate spoken English is fundamental to the role.
