We are looking for a temporary gardener for six months (seasonal ground maintenance operative) to help provide an excellent service for local people. The successful applicant will help implement the Wirral Parks Standard which will involve working with staff, Friends Groups, visiting service users and external organisations.

 

The successful applicant will join the gardening team based in Flaybrick Memorial Gardens who are responsible for the maintenance of this Grade 2* Historic site. The site is registered by Historic England primarily due to its original High Victorian layout by designer Edward Kemp as well as architecture by Lucy & Littler. Within the Cemetery are memorials to people of international, national and local significance.

 

The gardening team work to provide a comprehensive grounds service which includes horticulture and arboriculture operations to a standard in line with current Green Flag criteria. Maintenance operations include mowing and vegetation control, maintenance and management of a mature tree and shrub stock, and in addition undertake cleansing operations and all other duties relevant to the grade. 

 

As well as being able to carry out a full range of ground maintenance duties, it will be desirable if you were skilled in at least one of the following:

  • ·    Compact Ride-On or Stand-on Mowing Machines  
  • ·    Arboriculture
