We are the first London borough to be implementing Community Led Support which is a strengths-based approach to social work, seeking to empower residents by focussing on their strengths not deficits and working much more closely with our communities to provide support nearer to home. This will allow us to help people with the right support at the right time to encourage people’s independence and wellbeing for as long as possible.
We are looking for a range of levels of social work experience from qualified through to advanced social workers. Applicants for advanced social work posts will need to be able to demonstrate exceptionally strong social work practice skills and sound knowledge of key legislation, acquired through some years of experience in statutory work and aspirations to extend their practice experience and skills. Candidates at this level will be expected to show evidence of completion of relevant post-qualification award(s), as well as capacity to take on substantial leadership and supervisory responsibilities, which they will already have the skills to take on. Appointed applicants will share in their Manager's leadership of one of the above Teams to deliver progressive services and promote and maintain high standards of practice. They will also support NQSW’s through their ASYE.

About the Role
We are recruiting social workers for our Over 65’s Community teams, working across 6 locality areas in Croydon and Hospital based social workers for our hospital discharge team.
We offer a varied, busy and vibrant environment. The work is rewarding, working in multi-disciplinary teams benefitting from a close relationship with health colleagues (One Croydon Alliance) and other professionals.
We are implementing a strengths-based approach where empowering the residents of Croydon to remain independent is core to what we do. We will be working more closely with our community and voluntary sector partners to build active networks of support across our 6 locality areas.
Qualified Social Workers – Grade 10 - £33,444- £35,286
Experienced Social Workers – Grade 12 - £39,147 - £41,025
Advanced Social Workers - Grade 14 - £42,734 - £44,691 (extensive post qualification experience required for advanced posts)
