Job Introduction

Tarnerland Nursery School is for children aged from 3 months to 5 years, it is funded by the Local Education Authority in partnership with the Council’s Children’s & Family Services and is part of the Tarner Children’s Centre.

We are looking for 2 Nursery Assistants to join our team. Would you like to work with us

We offer the opportunity to work with a highly skilled and diverse team in a light and spacious purpose built building with wonderful outdoor space, including a large ‘meadow’ overlooking the sea in the centre of Brighton. We offer excellent salary, generous holiday, and training opportunities. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established and successful team.

We are open 51 weeks per year (closing at Christmas) and offer up to 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Training opportunities are available including 3 In-Service training days per year with the whole team

At our last inspection OFSTED inspectors graded us ‘outstanding’ and said we have
‘Exceptional senior leaders, staff and governors who work extremely well together, determined to make a positive difference to children’s lives. Children receive an exceptional start to their education. In an extremely warm, safe, happy environment, they quickly grow into independent, confident learners.’

The roles involve working with our under 3’s as a Key Person, you will have an excellent knowledge of the EYFS, and preferably some knowledge of planning and assessing for children of this age.

Some experience of child protection/safeguarding work would be advantageous, as would experience of working with children with additional needs and vulnerable families. You must have a relevant childcare qualification and experience of working with children under five.

Please refer to the person specification for further details
