Do you want to play a key role in delivering Newark and Sherwood’s priority of a Cleaner, Safer, Greener district.

We are seeking to appoint two additional Community Protection Officers that will provide a visible presence in our communities providing frontline enforcement, of anti-social behaviour, enviro-crime and providing support to police officers.

The successful candidate will be required to have knowledge of antisocial behaviour and enviro-crime legislation and its practical application and experience of working within the areas of Anti-Social Behaviour and Community Safety or similar areas of regulatory or enforcement work.   You will be required to issue fixed penalty notices where appropriate.

We are looking for someone, ideally, with an enforcement background, capable of working on their own, but who is also a strong team player who can fit into a busy multi- agency environment. You will be responsible for forming effective partnerships with other agencies including in particular, the police and the town and parish councils.

Excellent customer care skills are essential for this role and applicants must be able to demonstrate good people skills often in challenging situations. Applicants must be good team players and have basic computer skills. You must be prepared to work in all weathers on a flexible rota basis which will include weekends and bank holidays.
