About the Role

 

The Financial Assessment Team who sit in the Gateway Service are looking for 4 Welfare Visiting and Information Officers to join their busy team.

What the role involves:

Visiting vulnerable residents in their homes

Supporting residents complete financial assessment forms

Gathering relevant information

Liaising with Financial Assessment Officer and other Gateway teams to update on progress

Supporting residents claim other benefits they are entitled to, such as, Housing Benefits, council tax support, disability benefits

Provide advice, information and guidance for other Council and community led services

Ensure the overall wellbeing of a resident

Working in a preventative way

Ideally, the candidate will have an understanding of adult social care and of the welfare benefits system. But most importantly you must be:

Person centred - Patient, kind and understanding

Able to work well with others as well as independently

Able to learn quickly

Able to travel around the borough

Able to see the bigger picture

Solutions rather than process focussed
