Islington School ICT Support Partnership is a not-for-profit partnership between Islington Council and four secondary schools in Islington. We provide ICT technical support, network management and MIS support to Primary and Secondary Schools in and around Islington. Due to service expansion, we are currently recruiting to a number of new roles to expand the team of remote, school-based and mobile support engineers who work cooperatively to provide support across all of our settings.

We wish to recruit to a new post of Principal Remote Support & Infrastructure Engineer. The postholder will lead a small team of remote support engineers, supporting schools’ local installations and cloud services, and be the second highest point of escalation in the department to diagnose, investigate and resolve server, networking, software and hardware issues on a day-to-day basis. They will also support the Senior Schools’ Network Manager in planning and implementation of network and server installations.

The successful candidate will be a third line support engineer with extensive experience of installing, supporting and maintaining physical and virtual servers, preferably within an education setting. As well as technical knowledge. They will need to demonstrate appropriate management skills and personality to be able to effectively lead the remote support team to ensure that a responsive, effective service is provided to all clients.

The remote support team is based in The Laycock Centre, adjacent to Highbury and Islington Station, close to the amenities of fashionable Upper Street. This is an all-year round, 35 hour per week post, but flexible working or term-time-only can be considered for the right candidate.
