Better Queensway Project Manager, Southend-on-Sea, £37,849 - £43,662 depending on experience, 1 year maternity fixed term contract

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council is a unitary authority based in the town centre. This diverse and busy town has great public parks, beaches and leisure activities, competitive house pricing and excellent travel links making it a great place to live and work. The Council is looking to appoint a Project Manager to work on the pivotal £400M Better Queensway regeneration project in the heart of Southend. The Better Queensway project is at an exciting stage with the Council having identified Swan Housing as its preferred Joint Venture partner to design, build and undertake the long-term management of this complex project.
Your new role
As the Project Manager you will join the Programme Manager and the team at the commencement of the Joint Venture partnership. You will need to work with the Joint Venture team and be responsible for the coordination and delivery of a multi-disciplinary internal and external teams. You will be required to coordinate and project manage various workstreams including, but not limited to; planning, environmental and finance. You will lead on the process management and, working with the Programme Manager and Director of Regeneration and Business Development, be responsible for progressing the programme in accordance with Council strategy, policy and systems. This is likely to include carrying out the procurement and contract management of multi-disciplinary advisors and being the central point of liaison across internal and external teams.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful for this role you will need to have a Project Management qualification (Prince 2 practitioner level or equivalent) and demonstrate an excellent understanding and application of project management principles. You will need to have the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels and work across multiple work packages providing constructive inputs and delivering outcomes.
