We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to be a part of our drainage team. The Drainage Asset Inspector will work in the Highway Operations Team which exists to provide high quality, cost effective, frontline services which are of real benefit to residents' and visitors of North Somerset.
You will play a vital part in the delivery of the council’s gully cleansing programme. We are looking for an officer to inspect our road drainage systems and using bespoke software compile maintenance programmes. You will work closely with our contractor to ensure work is completed to the correct specifications and to ensure our services are delivered to a high standard.
This is a physically demanding role with lots of time spent walking outdoors, you should be observant and accurate in recording information. You should be comfortable working alone and as part of a team and be able to use your initiative. You need to be literate, numerate and have some computer skills and you must have a full, clean UK driving licence.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone starting out on their career and could provide you with all the skills necessary to progress on to a more technically challenging role. Alternatively, the post could be offered as a job share for anyone looking to reduce their work commitments but still wants to assist in providing excellent service to the local community.
