North Somerset Council is looking for a motivated individual who has recently graduated or has experience in Structural Engineering.
The successful candidate will be part of a team delivering an asset management approach to the Councils highway structures.
The main duties, depending on experience, will include: Inspection of Structures; identifying and managing maintenance works; updating our asset database; detailing using AutoCAD; design of smaller structures; project and budget management.
Our assets mainly comprise of bridges, retaining walls and culverts. There are also responsibilities for our subways, sea walls and vehicle safety barriers.
The post holder should be educated to a minimum HNC level (NVQ level 4) in Civil Engineering or other relevant subject and have a drive to progress their knowledge, experience and career.
