You would be part of a team of tutors that deliver programmes across Surrey in community settings and in partnership with specialist organisations such as homeless hostels, ex-service organisations, Job Centre Plus, Older People's Community Mental Health Teams and substance misuse and alcohol support organisations. We can work to fit in flexibly with your availability and we ultimately aim to match your availability to that of the partners.
The rate of pay, which includes preparation, is currently £20.44 per hour, plus 14% annual leave entitlement. If you deliver a course which leads to a qualification, the hourly rate is £24.52 + 14 %.
This is a zero hours (bank) contract. The amount of work you are offered will depend on the number and type of courses scheduled. A typical course runs during the day, over half a term, for 2 hours per week. In some cases, courses might not be viable due to low enrolments and may be cancelled.
Please note that we do not reimburse travel expenses or the time it takes to travel to teach. We will locate you at a reasonable distance from your home, however this will depend on the volume of work activities which arise in your area.
Surrey County Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We want to be an inclusive and diverse employer of first choice reflecting the community we serve and particularly welcome applications from all under represented groups.
An enhanced DBS 'Disclosure and Barring Service' check for regulated activity and the Children's and Adults' Barred List checks will be required for this role.
