This is a role in vibrant team operating with Children’s Social Care Services of the Council. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with knowledge, understanding and experience of identifying the right placement for children in care and young care leavers. You will be a key player in bringing professionals together and achieving agreements in high quality placements for our children and young people. You will need to have good organisational skills and ability to assess and understand the needs of the children and the young people in order to identify suitable placements.
Waltham Forest Council’s children and family service wishes to ensure that all children, who are in a suitable placements with experienced foster families, residential children’s homes and semi-independent providers. Our care leavers are also priority for our placements service and we always provide the highest quality of accommodation for them.
In some cases you will help the allocated children’s social worker carry out their role regarding the above and work alongside them.
You will share and offer support to the team and other colleagues across the service.
The post holder should be HCPC registered social worker.
