COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (Youth) – (Ref: 1F363P)

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary up to £22,500 p.a      

This is a key role with responsibility for leading the development and delivery of activities and services for young people aged 11-19 across the Borough of Broxbourne. The job itself requires someone with the confidence and experience to commission and deliver projects such as diversionary activities aimed at minimising incidents of anti-social behaviour.

You will need a minimum of three years’ experience working with young people in a variety of settings, and be able to demonstrate a real passion and enthusiasm for youth work. You will either hold an approved NVQ level 3 professional qualification in youth work or, provide evidence of an ability to operate at this level in a youth work setting.

You will also have excellent communication skills, be self-motivated and able to plan and prioritise your own work and that of your team. You will already be aware the importance of being flexible and adaptable as some of your work will be done during evenings and weekends. A full clean driving licence and access to a car on a daily basis is essential.

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluent English is essential in this post. This role requires an enhanced disclosure and barring service check as it is working with children or vulnerable clients.
