Together with families, we will improve the lives and life chances of the children and young people in Lewisham
We are an especially friendly, collaborative and enthusiastic team of Educational Psychologists. New colleagues feel very welcomed and you will have the opportunity to be the kind of EP you want to be.
Lewisham is a great place to live, work and visit, located in south east London, with a diverse community which is passionate about retaining local services. Lewisham is one of the most affordable areas to buy and rent in the capital and has great transport links, being only a 20 minute commute from Central London. 5 minutes away from Kaleidoscope is the wonderful Ladywell Fields and within the local area there is a growing hub of activity with independent bars, small galleries and quirky cafes.
The Lewisham Educational Psychology Team has an excellent reputation which is reflected by high levels of buy back from schools, social care and health. We are a dynamic and creative service with a wide range of innovative practice, including joint working with the Virtual School and the Communications Clinic, developing Mindfulness practice in schools, playing a key role in the Roots of Empathy programme. Exciting CPD opportunities are frequently available and currently colleagues are training in VIG. We have close links with the Doctoral training course at University East London and each year support trainee placements within the team.
The newly appointed Senior Specialist EP will lead on the Early Years work within the EP team, including professional guidance and supervision to EP colleagues and the Portage Team. Additionally the Senior Specialist will provide a strategic role within the borough and take a lead in offering training on early years issues for pre-school settings.
