Bracknell Forest prides itself on its work to enhance and protect the environment and has a key objective to provide a clean, green and pleasant borough for local people to live and work. It is an exciting and challenging time to be working in the Environmental sector with new focus on high profile campaigns to protect the planet from waste pollution caused by plastics, fly tipping and litter.

Bracknell Forest Council is looking for a Head of Environmental Services, working in the Delivery directorate to lead a team responsible for waste and recycling, street cleansing and grounds maintenance services for the Borough.

You will be the Councils technical lead in delivering the requirements of the new national resources and waste strategy to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill, and will be working with our waste collection contractor and our joint waste disposal partners to achieve this. You will therefore need to have experience of implementing major waste related projects, be capable of providing guidance and support in all environmental matters and be competent in finance management with a budget of around £8.5m
