We are looking for a Customer Service Advisor on a full time basis (37 hours) based on office opening hours Monday-Thursday 8.30am to 5.00pm AND Friday 8.30am-4.30pm on a fixed term basis ending on 30 September 2020.
The postholder will be part of the Customer Service Team primarily based at our main council offices in Saffron Walden, where we ensure as many enquiries as possible are resolved at the first point of contact to maximise customer satisfaction. Enquiries will be dealt with via the telephone and face-to-face giving advice and assistance on the whole range of District Council services as well as County, Parish, and the local community and other partner organisations. Enquiries will be dealt with by using various systems.
We are looking for a good communicator at all levels including telephone, face-to-face and written, who is patient and cheerful and able to work under pressure. Ideally, the candidates will have extensive computer experience (although training will be given). The ability to provide an excellent service to all customers contacting the Council in accordance with the Council’s Customer Charter and ensures that a positive image of the Council is conveyed to all customers.
The postholder may be expected at times to work at any of the Customer Service Centres at Saffron Walden, Great Dunmow and Thaxted, so there is a need for the post holder to be flexible. A full clean driving licence is essential along with the ability to travel to these areas, often at short notice.
