The Berkshire Sensory Consortium Service are looking to appoint a Hearing Impairment Team Co-ordinator due to the retirement of the current post holder. As a member of the Leadership and Management Team the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with the Head of Service to shape the direction of the Consortium and to lead on projects within the Service.

The role involves responsibility for the caseload organisation and line management of the HI team and therefore the successful candidate will need to have the right skills and professional knowledge to support staff to improve outcomes for CYP who are deaf and to enable capacity building within schools, settings and families. The Service has a successful record of inclusion of CYP within their local mainstream schools. The Service are currently looking to develop their pupil progress tracking systems and Post 16 provision.

The successful candidate will need to have a thorough knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and the ability to work operationally and strategically with commissioners and SEND Leaders in an ever changing educational and technological landscape.

Due to the nature of this role you must be able to travel independently to meet the requirements of the post, for which a mileage allowance will be available. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable. The HI Co-ordinator will be supporting staff across all of the Berkshire Local Authorities and will have a small caseload across one or two of the LAs.
