We have an opportunity within our Highway Network Management Team for 2 x part-time street works enforcement officers to help us co-ordinate activities on the highway in North Somerset.
As a street works officer working as part of a small team you will play a key role in delivering the Council’s statutory duties under the New Roads & Street Works Act, Traffic Management Act, Highways Act and associated codes of practice, as such you will ideally have good knowledge of legislation surrounding street works.
Having previous experience of working in a highway network management or related field would be advantageous, you will be self-motivated and work well as part of a team, bringing skills and technical knowledge in processing statutory notices, issuing defects and fixed penalty notices on non-compliant notifications.
You will be using Confirm Street Works and/or other associated software, therefore good IT skills are needed. In addition, good communication skills are essential as you will be dealing with enquiries and engaging with members of the public and stakeholders on a daily basis.
You will join an established team who will support you in your development and who are passionate about the service they provide.
Knowledge of the local area would be advantageous although is not essential.
