The council has a vacancy within its Public Health department for a skilled and experienced senior commissioner with a track record of successfully delivering system change, service redesign and complex commissioning programmes.
Associate Director - Public Health & Health Improvement (FTC – 31 January 2021)
SMG 2 - career grade: £71,149 rising in annual increments to £85,504 pa including LW
We need a skilled and experienced individual with relevant commissioning experience and a very strong ethos and track record around programme management to join our senior Public Health management team to lead the delivery of an ambitious programme of re-commissioning and service redesign, working with colleagues across the council and across the NHS.
The role will require you to work closely with relevant colleagues both inside and outside the council to deliver various complex and cross-cutting programmes including: overseeing the sexual health commissioning programme for Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark councils and CCGs, the London HIV Prevention Programme, a complex suite of health improvement and well-being services and developing a substance misuse alliance. The team also leads on LGBT and workplace health. The work will be exciting but difficult.
We believe how you commission is as important as what you commission and that means we are just as interested in your skills and behaviours as we are your technical expertise and knowledge. Our commissioners co-design new delivery models that can achieve multiple outcomes from one investment. Our commissioners collaborate and draw insight from communities, colleagues in other directorates and from partners far and wide to push their thinking about how to achieve outcomes.
You will have experience in senior strategic planning, project management, delivering savings programmes and Public Health commissioning.
