Po9: Starting salary £60,309 rising in annual increment £64,422 pa incl LW
A new opportunity has arisen within Lambeth Adult Social Care for a Head of Service to join our management. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to provide operational and strategic lead to a range of service areas within our social care teams specifically Intermediate Care Lambeth & hospital discharge teams and our Initial Contact Service.
The role will put you at the forefront of the service working closely with other senior managers both internal and external partner agencies to help deliver on our Lambeth Together integration model.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering high level advice, guidance and support to group of managers and staff in order to facilitate a high quality care management service and provisions are delivered to our local people and to develop close working relationships with other key teams across the department.
The role requires a qualified social work professional or equivalent, able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of working within adult social care and providing leadership.
The post holder will be responsible for:
- The day to day operational business of the service delivering agreed outcomes and ensuring principles of best value and strength based practice are achieved
- Have an understanding of the budget setting process and management of finance
- Support the senior management team by advising on strategy, policy and future direction of the service
- Take the lead in ensuring that the service requirement to safeguard adults is delivered according to agreed standards
It is essential that you demonstrate your ability to manage, motivate and lead a range of services in a demanding environment within budget constraints and frequently changing priorities. You will provide direct line management to Team Managers and service manager, with overall responsibility for the entire service.
The post requires you to maximise resources and achieve customer focused outcomes. It is therefore essential that you exhibit excellent communication and planning skills and be committed to partnership working across statutory and third sector organisations.
Candidates are required to have management experience in assessment and care management. However, you will be provided with regular supervision and access to ongoing training and development to enhance and develop your career in Adult Social Care.
