Assist Operator (As & When)
Salary : GBP 11.79 per hour only
Barnet Homes Assist undertakes the monitoring of the Assist community alarm service linked to older and vulnerable residents living in council stock, housing associations and the private sector. Among other services Assist provides Telecare and assistive technology installation, monitoring, maintenance and removal, lone worker monitoring, key safe installation and staff cover for other registered social landlords.
The overall purpose of the Operator role is to participate in providing a 24 hour emergency alarm monitoring service to a wide and diverse range of service users. This requires the post holder to operate efficiently the computer system provided for the purpose of receiving and appropriately responding to a variety of emergency and non-emergency calls. They must also maintain service user information in a correct, up to date state, ensuring security and confidentiality of information according to the Data Protection Act and Corporate guidelines. The post holder would also be hands on with a range of Telecare and assistive technology, ensuring that it was ready to the highest standard for colleagues to install. Assist Operators are responsible for delivery of a first class, frontline, customer focused service.
Familiarity with computerised systems would be an advantage although full training will be given on our alarm call management system used to respond to calls and with the Telecare and assistive technology.
An As & When post holder would join a bank of staff to be called upon to cover sickness, annual leave and training for colleagues as instructed by the Senior Assist Operator. The service operates on a shift rota basis with potential shifts requiring covering early/late in the day, over night and on weekends and bank holidays. The post requires an enhanced DBS check and you will be based at the Assist office at Gadsbury Close, NW9 7EZ.
