We are looking for a motivated individual to join our award-winning Tree Service as a Tree Preservation Officer.

The Tree Preservation Officer will be responsible for undertaking a range of arboricultural and planning related duties. This will include providing arboricultural observations and assist in the determination and enforcement of planning applications, tree preservation orders (T.P.O) tree work applications and conservation area notifications within the requisite time periods. Ensuring that tree loss through development is appropriately mitigated and advising on tree related policy and strategy.

As a Tree Preservation Officer, you will need to be knowledgeable, highly motivated, an effective team player, and have the ability to understand and meet targets and deadlines. You will need to have the ability to learn and assimilate new information while also being an excellent communicator.

The Tree Preservation Officer will supervise a Tree Officer (Planning), assisting with their development and work program.

Having experience of using planning database software would be valuable and previous experience of trees and planning obligations is essential. A working knowledge of BS 5837:2012 Trees in relation to Design, Demolition and Construction and the arboricultural aspects of the Town and Country Planning Act is required.

The Tree Service operate a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year emergency call out service. Some responsibility for the provision of this service may be required as part of this post.
