SOCIAL WORKER (MASH) SAFEGUARDING ADULTS TEAM
Grade 6/7 (£30,108-£38,040pa)
You will be part of a committed team that leads on the Safeguarding of vulnerable adults across the London Borough of Havering.
The Safeguarding Team is responsible for the most complex cases and undertake enquiries about institutional abuse. The locality teams are allocated all other S42 enquiries. The Safeguarding Team also holds responsibility for the co-ordination, processing and promotion of the DoLS procedures.
This team is part of a Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) which will give you the opportunity to contribute your expertise and experience.
You will be responsible for making high quality Safeguarding Enquiries around adults at risk and/or potential institutional abuse. In addition to undertaking Deprivation of Liberty Best Interest Assessments.
This will require you to use your knowledge of legislation, legal judgements and Pan-London protocols to identify abuse and deliver robust protection plans. We also have a local framework which promotes best practice.
Being part of this busy team is also about promoting understanding of the different types of abuse and the responsibilities of safeguarding, DoLS to other employees and external providers.

You need to be an experienced social worker with significant experience of Safeguarding processes and knowledge of the Care Act 2014. You will have a professional qualification in Social Work and HCPC registration, and possess a firm knowledge of current policy and practice and the ability to apply these to the job for which you are applying.
You should be a qualified Best Interest Assessor or demonstrate an ability and commitment to undertake the Best Interest Assessor Training.
