This is an exciting time for the Sport and Physical Activity Service in Camden (SPA). Following the completion of a borough wide Physical Activity Needs Assessment, the next year will see the implementation of a new leisure management contract, a new Sport and Physical Activity Strategy and development of initiatives focused on increasing physical activity amongst inactive Camden residents.
 
Camden is one of the leading local authorities for physical activity in the country with a vibrant and varied physical activity offer. This role is critical to the further development of physical activity in Camden, using evidence and creativity to strategically influence how we ensure our services are reaching those most in need – so that all of our citizens can lead healthy, independent lives.
 
It is essential that this role develops strong marketing and communications across Camden services and partners. This role must demonstrate the ability to deliver targeted messages through a range of marketing and communications methods in order to reach and engage with inactive residents.
 
You will have a degree or equivalent and/or an outstanding record of achievement in the relevant field, with a good understanding of health inequalities and how sport and physical can help address them.   
 
You will be experienced in improving systems for collating and sharing information across services and externally with partners and residents, providing usable insights that will inform physical activity and health outcomes, formulate service objectives and demonstrate the service’s impact.
 
You will have knowledge of need and barriers to participation including the range of issues associated with health inequalities and how physical activity can be used to address this.
 
You will be able to develop and implement marketing and communication plans and campaigns which speak to inactive residents with barriers to participation and supports them in taking first steps to being more active.
 
You will be confident in the development and maintenance of strategic relationships and partnerships, and will be proficient in managing complex workload including multiple projects and work streams simultaneously.  
 
This role is subject to a DBS standard check.
