Lead Domestic Gas Engineer
P01 £40,497 - £41,940 per annum inclusive of Market Supplement
Islington Council has a number of exciting opportunities for qualified domestic gas engineers within its in house repairs and maintenance service. Reporting to the Senior Mechanical Engineer, the Lead Domestic Gas Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of domestic gas appliances within the borough. As well as completing annual Landlord gas safety checks to approximately 10,000 properties in the north of the borough, the gas service is also responsible for completing responsive breakdown repairs and successful candidates will have an aptitude for both areas of work. The Lead Domestic Gas Engineer will offer an enhanced level of technical expertise and experience to the team, playing a lead role on the diagnosis of complex repairs and ultimately improving our first time fix rates and resident satisfaction. The Lead Domestic Gas Engineer will also assist with the day-to-day supervision and mentoring to the wider group of engineers. As a hard to recruit to post, the Lead Domestic Gas Engineer role(s) has attracted an annual Market Rate Supplement payment of £6870 included within the salary advertised. The Council is looking for enthusiastic, diligent and suitably qualified gas engineers to join our existing team. As this role will involve daily interaction with customers, we require individuals with excellent interpersonal skills who will strive to achieve the best outcome and service delivery for the residents of Islington. A full UK driving license is essential for this role and all successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
