We have ongoing opportunities for Community Support Workers across Cambridgeshire to meet the needs of disabled Children and Young People. These relief positions offer you the chance to work as many or as few hours as you would like, gaining new skills and experiences; this can be achieved alongside your family, work or studying commitments. We are highly supportive, creative and dynamic and constantly seeking opportunities to develop our services. With a range of skills in supporting disabled children, you will also have the ability to be flexible enough to provide support within the community or within the child's own home. The needs of the Children and Young People who use our service mean that you will need to have lots of energy and be really motivated with a child-centered and inclusive approach to work. You will promote a creative way of working to encourage access to a variety of activities to meet individual needs. Support is largely required in the evenings, weekends and School holidays usually on a 1:1 basis. The service is aimed at encouraging and promoting the independence and self-confidence of disabled children and plays a key part in assessing and managing risk. If you feel that you will be able to communicate at all levels and have a flexible and creative approach then we would like to hear from you. As a service we are committed to safeguarding and ensuring the safety and well-being of the Young People and their Families who access our service and this is a key feature of the role. Ideally, you will have a Diploma (NVQ) Level 2 or 3 in Social Care or other child related areas or be willing to work toward this qualification. Full training, induction and support is provided. This is an ongoing recruitment campaign therefore interviews will be held regularly.
