Wirral Council is looking for a Licensing Enforcement Officer to work in our busy Licensing Section. This is an exciting opportunity to join a very busy and dedicated team dealing with a range of interesting and complex functions. The successful candidate will deal with enforcement matters relating to a number of different licensing functions from alcohol to gambling, taxis to scrap metal dealers, and regulated entertainment to street traders.
The successful candidate should have knowledge of local authority licensing and enforcement procedures as well as strong investigation skills. Excellent communication skills and experience of dealing with confrontation are essential.
Good computer literacy skills and experience of maintaining accurate and detailed records within computerised databases. The ability to maintain accuracy even when working under pressure is essential.
The successful candidate will manage their own workload and must be able to prioritise work to ensure that internal and statutory timescales are adhered to.
The successful candidate will be able to operate independently and as part of a team and will need a driving licence and the use of a car for business purposes. This post includes the requirement for some evening and weekend working.
