Exciting opportunity to join the Youth & Outdoor Education Team within Thurrock Council as we develop opportunities for young people in 2019.
Our Youth Work Team deliver a range of services across Thurrock including sessional youth work, participation and youth voice, early intervention and project work including both Princes Trust and DofE.
We are looking for a qualified Youth Worker with experience in managing and delivering project based work, including residentails, with the focus on supporting young people into education, training and employment. You will need to have local knowledge of the barriers that young people face and the skills to deliver solution focused outcomes which support young people to reach their full potential. You will have passion and drive to join us in making a difference to young people in Thurrock delivering high quality provision with excellent results.
You will have a proven track record of working with young people in a project setting, have knowledge of the Princes Trust model and be able to work with young people in an inclusive way. You will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of health & safety in the workplace enabling young people to have a safe and enjoyable experience across all elements of our work.
The successful applicants will need to demonstrate:
At least one previous years experience in working with young people post qualification, competence in leading sessions and projects for young people, delivering activities to meet identified learning outcomes, and will be qualified in the following:
- Degree in Youth Work
- First Aid
You will be flexible to working hours that include evenings, weekends and residentials, this may also include some Bank Holidays.
