Our Revenues team are central to this challenge, and it is here that we would value your expertise on all matters relating to our Business Rate and Council Tax Valuation.
With the overall remit of maximising revenue and avoiding legal challenges, you will lead the work of the team monitoring and analysing their performance. Seeing to it that that all amendments to non-domestic rating and council tax valuations are legally sound, you’ll take on a broad array of challenges.
Training new and existing staff, you will see to it that the team share your commitment to excellence and continuous improvement, and you will be ready to offer your expert opinion across the wider department.
More complex cases will always come under your control and you will be a driving force behind new systems and technology that make the whole process smoother for both ratepayers and colleagues.
In addition, you will help manage the wider City Revenues department, and provide reports, advice and support to senior Corporation figures.
Demonstrable experience in a supervisory role in valuations, you will have a comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of Revenues administration and the associated legislative requirements. Educated to degree level or equivalent with an IRRV Qualification (level 3 or Technician), you will have an analytical mindset, exceptional communication skills and the capacity to prioritise tasks when under pressure.
