About the role

We are looking for a Team Manager to coordinate the day to day operational management of our Child Care Law team. The post holder will also provide professional legal services, within the area of Children’s Social Care, as principal legal adviser, case holder and advocate.

This role will play a significant difference to the lives of children and young people of Rotherham. Building on the success of our current team, we are seeking a motivated and driven lawyer to work with us. We play a key partnership role with the Children and Young People’s Service who are proud to have recently been rated by OFSTED as “good” with outstanding elements. This is an ideal time for a versatile legal professional to join our team.

About you

It is important that you have excellent communication, team-work and relationship building skills within this role leading, managing and supervising Child Care Lawyers on a day to day basis. In this role you will need to use your initiative, be flexible and driven to deliver an excellent high quality service; demonstrating a real commitment the role and the Legal Services Team.

We are looking for a Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive Advocate who has extensive experience of working within a Local Authority and substantial knowledge of Child Care Law. The role will require you to be well organised so as to balance a manageable caseload alongside your managerial responsibilities.
