This is an exciting time for Redbridge as we are seeking an experienced Senior Practitioner to join our busy team.
The new Elizabeth Line is bringing central London even closer to Redbridge than ever before, and the 24-hour Central Line night tube means the City is accessible at all hours. In our recent Ofsted Inspection (September 2016), the review of the effectiveness of Services for children in need of help and protection, children looked after, care leavers and the LSCB was judged to be ‘Good’.
The ‘Child Protection and Assessment’ service is a fascinating and fast-paced place to practice social work. You will be undertaking assessments and S47 inquiries, doing direct work with children, and taking cases to initial child protection conferences and court. No two days are the same and you will quickly develop a vast repertoire of skills that will enhance your practice. You will be on duty just one week out of six, meaning that you will have the time you need to deliver high-quality work and move cases on. You will have a manageable caseload and be part of a stable, high-performing team which has strong morale and opportunities to develop through training and co-working.
You will have a detailed understanding of the Children's Act (1989), relevant legislation policies and procedures; be HCPC registered and have a recognised social work qualification. As part of our safer recruitment strategy, all Social Worker posts require an Enhanced DBS check and references may be taken up prior to interview.
