Horsham District Council are looking for an Assistant Transport Manager to work within the Waste, Recycling, Street Scene and Fleet team.
As Assistant Transport Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that all vehicles are roadworthy and legal when in use, repairs are carried out in a timely manner with the least possible operational disruption. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the Council’s Operators Licence is observed and maintained.
To succeed as Assistant Transport Manager you will need to have extensive knowledge of LGV vehicle compliance and hold a certificate of professional competence and be able to communicate with a range of people from different backgrounds, including ethnic, social and professional, both verbally and in writing.
You will have experience working in a challenging environment which will involve managing a busy LGV workshop open to both internal and external stakeholders. You will be experienced in composing detailed reports, have a current LGV category C driving licence and be able to use various software for monitoring fleet maintenance and the issuing of fuel to vehicles.
