Role Purpose

Withan annual spend of over £340 million and around 3,500 suppliers, we fullyrecognise the value and need for effective contract management.

The role of the central procurement service hasbeen strengthened to broaden its remit. Our procurement strategy focuses ondeveloping the Council’s strategic approach to procurement and enhancing themanagement and development of our suppliers.

This is a new and exciting role that sits withinthe central procurement team with a focus on Social Value. The council hasdeveloped a new Social Value Framework to build on its success in securingemployment and community benefits through its external contracts.







Key Responsibilities

As a SocialValue Officer you will work with council officers, key partners and suppliersto develop our Social Value Framework to ensure its success. You will establish a robust and coordinatedcouncil-wide approach to the monitoring of employment and community benefitssecured through our contracts.

Requirements

You will have a good understanding of public sectorprocurement, together with demonstrable experience of developing contract monitoringprocedures.

You will also be adept in report-writing andexcellent at developing effective working relationships with a range ofstakeholders and suppliers
