Following the introduction of Universal Credit and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2018, we are looking to appoint driven and pro-active Welfare and Housing Caseworkers for our busy Welfare and Housing Service. We have 3 permanent positions and 1 x 12 month Fixed Term contract available.
You will be working with customers to help them maximise their income and independence, with a strong emphasis on preventing homelessness and working together to achieve better outcomes.
This role combines the disciplines of Housing Options and Homelessness case work, with Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support assessment. We are looking to recruit committed team players with experience in housing options, homelessness or benefit assessment. We undertake to offer full training to the successful candidates.
You will need to have excellent communication skills, be outcome focused and have a strong person centred approach to problem solving. A high standard of written communication and experience of working in the frontline in the public sector or equivalent is desirable.
